4th of July

It was great to have my family out here for the 4th of July. We had a wonderful time. For the 4th we watched fireworks from the flight line. The base was opened to the public to come watch them, and a lot of people turned out. They had some planes on display, food, the Air National Guard Band of the Smokey Mountains, and a big truck for hunting enthusiasts to look at mounted deer (only in the South!) The fireworks were beautiful, and they were synchronized to music. It was all very patriotic.

As you can see, Katrina found a friend. She wasn't real excited to take the picture though:)

The sunset was God's prelude to the fireworks.

We had a fun time talking, drinking coffee and just enjoying each other. We put them to work though, and they got a lot of things done that we had been putting off. Thanks so much!!

As you can see, Daisy and Denver just ate up the attention. They were in heaven!

For a cultural experience, our friend Sawa from Japan taught us how to make authentic sushi rolls. It was a lot of fun and they were very yummy!

We took the family to some of the well know restaurants in Columbus that were good, and then one southern buffet that we probably would have been better off missing. Oh well, it was an experience Katrina won't forget:)
The flowers in this picture are from my new favorite tree, Crete Myrtles (I think that's how to spell it). They are gorgeous and all over the place!

We also got to go cosmic bowling. It was a lot of fun, and there were lots of laughs, mostly at our shirts, I think they are cute.

Good family picture, we missed having Chip come though. Hopefully he can come visit sometime soon.

The time flew by too quickly as it always does. The kitties loved having company! They knew the suitcases meant someone was leaving and they sure didn't like it.

We loved having them come visit and sure we lived closer to family. We enjoy any and every chance for visitors. Come one and all!
