Aberdare Park

We had Saturday off before we dedicated the church on Sunday. One of our Kenyan friends woke us up early to see Mt Kenya. The picture above is Mt. Kenya and that is the clearest we ever saw it. I guess there is only about 1 month during the year that it can be see clearly.

We ate another great breakfast made by Samuel and then headed off to Aberdare National Park.

We were able to walk around the grounds for a while before we went on our trek. The vegetation was gorgeous and there were a lot of huge cactus trees all over like the one Scott is standing in front of. The pumbas(warthogs) were all over eating grubs. It's amazing how much of the Lion King is from swahili.

We walked for a long time before we saw any animals and then, wow, there they were. We got really close to the giraffes. We had to stay close together as a group because a few weeks before a German man was killed after being kicked by a giraffe because he strayed from the group. There sure weren't any fences so we listened to our guides.

The lunch we had there was yummy and very relaxing.It was great to take a day off and enjoy the Lord's awesome and unique creation.
