Jen's Visit

Middle of August my friend Jen came to visit. It was wonderful to have her out here and show her a bit of the South. We had fun visiting the historic sites in Columbus such as the Antebellum homes, the Tennessee Williams house, and Friendship Cemetery.

It was great to be able to catch up. Friday, Scott's class graduated so we were able to all be apart of the student pilot's graduation day. It started with a breakfast, then the actual graduation, and then later that evening was the fancy dinner. Before dinner, Jen and I were able to relax and pamper ourselves. It was so much fun to just have some girl-time with her. Brought back lots of fun memories from college.

We had a fun time at the graduation dinner. I love seeing everyone dressed up!After dinner we went "armadillo hunting", this is our new favorite thing to do with guests. We don't actually hunt them, we just find them and chase them, yes, it is redneck, but hey, it's fun.

The next day we drove down to Florida. Jen and I went straight to the beach and Scott and some of his wrestling buds played beach volleyball. After all that we went to Old Bay Steamer, we weren't quite sure what they had, but were hungry for seafood. We had crab, lobster, and shrimp that was steamed of course, but we didn't realize it was the WHOLE shrimp-eyes and all. It was pretty good, but quite the experience!

The next day we hit Ft. Walton beach, but realized it was a bit toasty to lay out for too long. We enjoyed the ocean's beauty for as long as we could handle the heat and then headed off to lunch to cool off before we went to the beach again. That afternoon Jen and I went to the beach on Navarre Island while Scott caught up with his friend Josh. Later that evening we all went out to dinner. This time there weren't any eyes in our meal!

We had a wonderful time in Florida and enjoyed the beach and our cabin on the bay. I'm so glad Jen was able to come and visit and that we were able to make the trek down to the beach. Of course the time flew by, but it was wonderful to have her come and share in our lives.
