Mayflies and More

This is my new favorite blooming tree, the Chinese Magnolia or Tulip tree. Gorgeous! Yes, spring is here in Mississippi.

Spring means the mayflies are here. They look like huge mosquitos but our kitties love them. Daisy turns into ninja cat and jumps halfway up the wall. As you can see in the picture Denver needs a little help getting the ones that are high up. He's not too keen on going very high, but if we lift Daisy up she's ready to jump out of our hands to catch one. The kitties know they come in the front door, so they sit and wait for Scott to try and catch them. As spring goes on though, the bugs will increase and then they will come in on their own. Now at night Daisy sits by the door and meows for us to let the Waldos in. We call them Waldos, they fly pretty quick so we ask the kitties where the Waldos are as they try to find them. They get pretty excited. It's actually very amusing.

My Christmas cactus finally bloomed!!!!

For the first two weeks in March my Dad was in Montgomery Alabama to complete part of his Air War College in residence. About 17 weeks worth of stuff was crammed into 2 weeks and then he was tested on it. He passed! Good to get some of that out of the way. We were able to drive and see him which was a lot of fun. Great to see him, even if it was just for a short time.
